Ten On-Campus Valentine’s Events That Won’t Break the Bank

Having a good Valentine’s experience can be rough when you’re spending on a college student budget, so we put together a list of some on-campus events to help you celebrate not only the big day but saving money, too.

Plush teddy bears sit on shelves waiting to be purchased. Decadent chocolates are artfully displayed in stores all over the country. Flower shops are being bombarded with orders for their best arrangements.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and advertisements are cluttering television screens, social media feeds and local grocery stores claiming to have the best merchandise to capture or keep that special someone.

These advertisements have one common flaw: they don’t take into consideration the average (often broke) college student’s budget. But don’t worry, the University Press has got your back.

Below is a list of on-campus events from Feb. 12-15 that will help you treat the Valentine in your life, offer a way to meet new people, and/or help you save money.

And the best part? Nine out of 10 events are free.
