The FAU football team made a big deal over their revolutionary playing surface coined “Owl turf.” Which is basically real grass and dirt on top of a rubber base, then underneath that is concrete. Unfortunately, Pro Player Stadium is real grass and real dirt, and with an on-campus stadium nowhere in the visible future, one has to question the point and principal of the touted turf.
