This scholarship is open to outstanding students attending FAU who meet the following criteria: must be majoring in a people and/or community related field, must be a full time student with a 3.25 GPA, must demonstrate financial need, must submit a typed essay on the applicant’s philosophy of life and accomplishments, personal interests, and summarize the history of your volunteer work. The essay MUST include a statement of the applicant’s healthy lifestyle (NO drugs, alcohol, smoking …etc.)
Acceptable majors are: Law and Society, Pre-Law, Pre-Med, Psychology, Teaching, Social Work, Guidance Counseling, Nursing, Medical Practice, Personnel Administration from the following FAU colleges: Arts & Letters, Education, Science, Nursing, Business or Urban and Public Affairs. Recipients are encouraged to commit themselves to assist other students sometime in the future whenever they are financially able to do so. Deadline to submit applications to the Office of Student Financial Aid is April 17, 2009 by 5 p.m.
