Museum of Discovery and Science
Prepare yourself to be 5 years old again

As you walk up to the Museum of Discovery and Science, your jaw will hang open as you stare at the giant sculpture, a 52-foot kinetic energy clock, in the outdoor lobby area. With the movement, sounds and colors, you’ll gaze at it like a kid watching TV or a college student watching a lava lamp.
This is all before you even walk in the door.
$10 will get you inside for a complete afternoon of fun. Of the 200+ exhibits, you must hit up Gizmo City. This area is fully hands on, literally. Virtual Volleyball will keep you entertained for more time than your attention span will allow.
The Florida Ecoscapes area contains most of the underwater animal life, while the Sound area will put you inside of a musical kaleidoscope.
Don’t forget that the biggest movie screens in South Florida are also located here. The IMAX 3D theater brings in a lot of the customers. With a five-story-tall screen and 42-speaker surround sound, you can’t get this effect at home or even at your local movie theater. Right now, Night at the Museum: Battle at the Smithsonian is playing, and later this summer you can catch Transformers – Revenge of the Fallen.
Spending a summer day petting stingrays then watching movies on a killer screen sounds like a good day.

Drinking a beer while playing your favorite token games can only be accomplished at Dave and Buster’s in Hollywood. This 18-and-up restaurant with a game room has all your favorite games without the hassle of waiting for the little kids to finish up their turns.
The menu is a mix of American-style burgers and sandwiches, as well as out-of-the-ordinary dishes like a toasted ravioli appetizer. Their “Eat & Play Combo” for $15.99 allows you to get a meal and a $10 game card.
Dave and Buster’s offers specials all throughout the week so your pockets stay happy. They have discounts on the drinks, food or games during their happy hour or power hour. And on Wednesdays, games are half price.
After all the credits are spent on your power card and your ticket cups are overflowing, visiting the prize shop will make you feel like a kid again. You can pick from novelty items like huge stuffed animals, candies or D&B gear.
