Individual walkers, teams of walkers and supporters of walkers are still needed to take part in the START! Heart Walk, which will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26, beginning at 8 a.m. on the Boca Raton campus. So dust off those sneakers and plan on turning out to support the campaign against heart disease, which is the number one cause of death in the United States. Our goal is to reach 1,000 student, faculty and staff participants this year to raise $20,000 and WE NEED YOU to make this happen!

If you don’t have time to walk on Saturday but want to contribute to the effort, donations may be made to the American Heart Association one of two ways:

– Online (minimum donation of $25):
Visit www.palmbeachheartwalk.org and select “Find a Team,” type in “Weppner Center” and select the team, click on the “General Team Donation” tab, enter the amount and follow prompts.

– By check (no minimum): Make check payable to the American Heart Association and send to the Weppner Center for Civic Engagement & Service.
