If you aren’t familiar with this local ska band, get acquainted. Sir Veza is signed with FAU’s record label, Hoot/Wisdom Recordings, and brings an interesting and energetic style to each performance.

Infusing a rock sound with trombones and trumpets, Sir Veza made sure to involve attendees at the Funky Buddha, and no feet were still on Friday night. The crowd was dancing and enjoying themselves to the fast-paced sound.

Sir Veza has gathered a significant following of fans not only from FAU, but also around Florida. Even playing smaller shows, Sir Veza gathers a group of wild and crazy fans. The ska band had the crowd “skanking,” a type of dance that resembles running in place to the beat of ska or punk music.

Perhaps the most interesting portion of Sir Veza’s music is the infusion of trumpets and trombones along with guitars, drums and vocals. Sir Veza’s music has something for everyone, whether you appreciate a great, high-energy performance, or you enjoy listening to music that immediately rocks a sense of energy and happiness into a crowd.

The band’s performance brought a fresh and vibrant fusion of sound to listeners and fans and made me a new fan and appreciator of their music. Their album is expected to be on iTunes shortly.
