Former FAU police officer Jimmy Ho, who allegedly shot an escort, was not present today in court.
This morning, his public defender and the state attorney decided to move the trial date to December 12. By then, they said the discovery — the fact-finding process that takes place after a lawsuit is filed — will have been completed. Prosecutors are no longer seeking the death penalty.
Ho was arrested on murder charges in February after shooting Sheri Carter twice, leaving her paralyzed below the waist. She later died at Delray Medical Center.
