The FAU baseball team lost to Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday night 11-5. Owls starting pitcher Jake Meiers was charged with a loss, bringing his record to 2-3. Meiers was pulled midway through the second inning.
The Owls gave up two homers on the night. The first came when Warhawks DH Corbin Green hit a two run home run to right field in the second inning. The second homer was hit by ULM third baseman, Judd Edwards, in the seventh inning. Edwards’ hit would be the final runs the Warhawks would score against FAU in their 11-5 victory.
FAU second baseman Mike Albaladejo continued his strong hitting performance in the series, going t3 for 4 with an RBI, two doubles and a walk. FAU right fielder Corey Keller also had a strong outing, going 3 for 5 on the night with two RBI. The loss brings the Owls to 1-1 in the series against their Sun Belt Conference rivals.
FAU plays again tomorrow against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks at 1 p.m.
