Stefan Moody hasn’t played a game yet for FAU, but he’s already making history.
Moody has been named to the Parade All-American Team, according to FAU Sports.com. He’s the first Owl ever to receive the accomplishment. Moody, a 5’9 160 point guard from Orlando, FL, averaged 27.9 points per game. He led the Pioneers to the Florida class 7A regional semifinals and was ranked seventh out of 100 Florida high school players in the 2012 Source Hoops Final Player Rankings. Moody was also named to the All-Central Florida Team by The Orlando Sentinel.
The 2012 Parade Team is composed of 40 players, with Moody and Deandre Burnett (University of Miami) the only players committed to Florida universities.
Moody’s won multiple dunk contests, including the 2012 Senior Showcase. Owls head coach Mike Jarvis calls Moody “probably the most incredible athlete that I’ve ever seen.”
His high school coach went a step further.
“He is the most athletic kid I’ve ever seen, and I’ve played Division 1 basketball and professional basketball,” Poinciana High School coach Oliver Simmons said. “Phenomenal. He’s what they call a YouTube kid. He’s 5-foot-9 and dunking on 6-foot-9 people. Tell your fans to get ready.”
