Around 2 p.m. today Broward College was on lockdown after a Davie police sergeant was stopped by a victim who said he was confronted by two suspects.
According to an FAU Alert email, “The victim reported that one of the suspects allegedly struck him by hand, and that the same individual allegedly had a gun. No gun was displayed during the incident.”
The sergeant called for backup and pursued the suspects on foot. Broward College and surrounding schools were placed on lockdown stating: “Armed intruder/shooter@ Central. Seek shelter. If off campus, avoid area.”
Around 2:15 p.m. Davie Police found one of the suspects in his car. The suspect was arrested and a gun was found.
Approximately around 2:30 p.m. the second suspect was taken into custody, but was found to be unarmed.
The lockdown was lifted and school operations returned to normal.
