Spring semester workload got you down already? Fear not! This Saturday FAU’s Program Board hosts comedians Pam Bruno, Bernadete Emmanuel and Vanessa Fraction in its Ladies of Comedy show.
These ladies are no amateurs. Bruno was featured on “DecoDrive” and even appeared in an episode of “Burn Notice.” Fraction was a finalist in NBC’s “Standup for Diversity” showcase and a comedy writer for BET’s “106 & Park,” among other things. Fraction’s website even says she’s a professional whistler, hopefully a talent she’ll showcase this weekend.
Including summer programming, this is the fifth comedy show Program Board has put on this academic year. The idea of an entirely female performance appealed to the board while attending a national conference for college programming.
“We saw many female comedians and thought the event would be a refreshing change to our usual shows,” Program Board Director and sophomore film major Lindsay Rinner said. “[We] worked with a talent agency to find local female comedians.”
So don’t let all their hard work go to waste. This event is free (yes, FREE!) to all FAU students. When 7pm rolls around this Saturday, get off Netflix and get down to the Kaye Auditorium for a hoot.
Ladies of Comedy starts at 8pm in the Carole and Barry Kaye Auditorium and is free for FAU students
