Sun, Swim and Fun — FAU Style
Florida Atlantic University’s first Sunday Funday goes off without a hitch
After FAU’s 50-21 victory over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, students on the Boca Raton campus still needed to celebrate.
Owl Radio’s first Sunday Funday took place at the community pool at Innovation Village Apartments from noon to 4 p.m. Students hung out with their friends, swam in the pool and played volleyball.
“It’s a fun party to come to, and it was fun to meet new people,” said neuroscience major Desiree Nathe.
Partygoers had Papa John’s pizza, provided by Chartwells. Blaring party music from DJ Black and White filled the IVA courtyard. Owl Radio gave out cups and t-shirts with an owl logo.
“It’s a fun party, and it was a great turnout for the first one. The food supply was slacking a little bit, though,” said criminal justice major Breann Marshall.
Owl Radio is sponsoring the event to celebrate all five home football games.
“It wasn’t a bad turnout for the first one, and if [FAU] Housing promotes it more, this could be a good thing,” said Mike Atcherson, a film major.
The next Sunday Funday will take place on Sept. 28, then again on Oct. 12 and Nov. 2, respectively.
