Owls lose to FIU 62-60, suffer first home loss of year

The FIU Panthers defeat the FAU Owls with a final score of 62-60. Here’s what you need to know:

  • The largest lead for either team had was only ten points. The FAU Owls shot 11-of-33 in the first half. While the FIU Panthers shot 13-of-24, outscoring the Owls. The first half ended 28-25 in favor of FIU.
  • The FAU Owls now have a home record of 5-1, and they are just on the road 2-4 road thus far. The FIU Panthers currently hold a 2-0 record in Conference USA after today’s win.
  • Panther Adrian Diaz led FIU with 27 points. “He is a good player,” said FAU coach Michael Curry. “I knew that going into the game.” Solomon Poole led the Owls with 22 points, but took nineteen shots to get his points.
  • The FAU Owls shot 8-of-27 from the 3-point line, hit just two of their four free throws. The next home game is on Jan. 15 at 7 p.m.
