Women’s Basketball:

  • Women’s basketball upset the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles last Tuesday 62-55. Their win broke a 25-game home winning streak and a 22-game regular season win streak for the Eagles, who were receiving votes in the Top 25 poll.

Football:

  • Football nearly upset the No. 8 ranked University of Florida Gators Saturday in their 20-14 overtime loss, marking the second time this season the Owls have fallen in overtime. Their first was a 47-44 defeat to Tulsa in the season opener on Sept. 5.
  • Junior defensive end Trey Hendrickson tied the program record for career sacks during the game after recording two. His total of 16 ties Cory Henry, who set the record in 2013.
  • The Owls are now 1-29 all time when playing teams from the Power Five conferences (SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and Pac 12). Their lone victory came against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Sept. 15, 2007.
  • Against ranked teams, FAU is now 0-15 all time in the FBS.
