Women’s Basketball:
Women’s basketball was beat by 100 points for the first time this season with its 102-53 loss to the Kansas State University Wildcats. Its last loss by over 100 points came against Campbell in a 107-90 loss on Feb. 23, 2003.
Redshirt senior Ali Gorell broke a streak of six games with double-digit points, scoring four in the loss to the Wildcats.
Football:
Football hired Travis Trickett to its vacant offensive coordinator spot Friday. Trickett was previously offensive coordinator at FCS program Samford, where he coached for five years. For more on Trickett’s hiring, click here.
Freshman Azeez Al-Shaair was named to the USA Today Freshman All-American team at the start of last week. He is the first Owl to be named to USA Today’s team.
Senior defensive tackle Trevon Coley was named to the East team in the 91st annual East/West Shrine game. He joins Lestar Jean, Alfred Morris and Damian Parms as the fourth and fifth FAU players ever selected to play in the game.
