Junior guard Marquan Botley has announced he will be transferring from Florida Atlantic University to continue his collegiate career.

Botley confirmed the news on his official Instagram page, shortly after 11 a.m., thanking his family and coaches for the past three years he spent at FAU.

Botley joined FAU at the beginning of the 2013-2014 season as a freshman and was immediately inserted into the starting lineup.

He finished the year as the Owls’ second-leading scorer at 11.3 points per game and set an FAU single-season record in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.27/1. He was rewarded by being named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team.

In his second season, Botley led the team in scoring and assists at 13.1 and 3.86 respectively.

The guard was reassigned to the sixth-man role in his junior year and second season under head coach Michael Curry. His scoring average dropped to 8.9 points per game.

Botley scored 24 points off the bench in the 2016 Conference USA Tournament versus the University of Texas at San Antonio.

It is currently unknown which program Botley will be heading to next. Follow the University Press for updates as the story continues to develop.
