F

lorida Atlantic football’s full 2017 schedule has been released by Conference USA, and the team will be facing a couple of unfamiliar teams as part of its non-conference schedule.

The Owls will open their season at home versus Navy to begin the Lane Kiffin era in Boca Raton. Both programs met each other back on Nov. 3rd, 2012, with the Midshipmen coming away with a 24-17 win.

FAU then travels to Wisconsin, who was ranked No. 9 in the Associated Press’ final top-25 poll of the 2016 season. The Badgers finished their season by defeating then-undefeated Western Michigan 24-16 in the Cotton Bowl.

Week three has Bethune-Cookman making the three-and-a-half hour trip to visit FAU. The two teams will face each other for the first time since FAU has been an FBS program.

The Owls complete their non-conference schedule by visiting the Buffalo, the longest road trip FAU will take this season — 1151 miles.

For conference play, FAU will host Middle Tennessee in week five, North Texas in week eight, Marshall in week 10 and Florida International in week 12.

The Owls travel to Old Dominion in week six, Conference USA’s defending champions Western Kentucky in week nine, Louisiana Tech in week 11 and close their season at Charlotte on Nov. 25.

FAU‘s bye will come in week seven. Game times will be announced later based on TV contracts.
