Campus events for final exam stress

If final exam stress is already weighing on your shoulders, FAU is offering multiple free events across campuses to give students a break.

Long hours in the Hillel all-night study lounge and last minute papers are all on the horizon for FAU students. Thankfully, more than a dozen events, hosted by Student Government and other student organizations, are scheduled to help students decompress throughout finals week.

They will be held across FAU– from the Jupiter campus, to the Dania Beach Sea Tech campus. Whether you’re the master of procrastination or the proactive library dweller, these events are free for all students to enjoy.

S.P.A. day

Thursday, Nov. 30th 11:30- 2:00 p.m at the auditorium on the Dania Beach Sea Tech campus.

On the Dania Beach Sea Tech campus? Go check out S.P.A. day, and kick back and relax in the midst of academic armageddon.

Furry Frenzy

Fri, Dec. 1  11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Boca campus Housing Lawn.

Pets in Danger at FAU will be partnering with Student Government to bring adorable pups from a local animal shelter for students to play, cuddle, and interact with on the Housing Lawn. Pets in Danger will be collecting monetary and physical donations for the animal shelter that is providing the dogs.

Energy is Everything!

Wednesday, Nov. 29th 5:00 pm-6:00 pm in the Oasis Student Lounge at the Davie campus.

Lead and Serve is hosting an event to help students feel rejuvenated and fresh in the midst of this trying week. The event will consist of a discussion with Lead and Serve on how a positive attitude can help in you becoming a more energetic student.

Pet A Pup Part 2

Friday Dec. 1st 3:00 pm-5:00 pm on the Jupiter campus.

Jupiter SAVI and the Jupiter/ Tequesta Kennel Club are hosting an event where students can pet service dogs to help curb students’ stress.

Drepung Loseling Sand Mandala

Saturday Dec. 2nd 10:00 am-4:30 pm in the Boca campus Library.

Take a break from exam cramming to observe the Drepung Loseling Monks compose a Tantric Buddhist Mandala sand painting in the Boca Library.

Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind

Friday Dec. 1st 7:00 pm, Dec. 2nd 2:00 pm & 7:00 pm,  Sunday Dec. 3rd at 2:00 pm in Studio 2 at the Boca campus.

Need a distraction from all the stress? Head over to studio 2 to watch some free improv style neo-futurisitc plays, written by Greg Allen and directed by Melissa Jaclyn Mauer.

Up Owl Night

Sunday Dec. 3rd 3:00 pm-10:00 pm at the Boca campus Student Union.

Stop into the Student Union on the Boca Campus for free tutoring, review sessions, and relaxation activities from to help prepare you for the impending finals.

Wii Bowling Tournament

Monday Dec. 4th 9:00 am-3:00 pm in the Military and Veterans Center on the Boca Campus.

What’s a better way to kill stress than with friendly competition? The military and veterans center is hosting a wii bowling tournament to help students de-stress after mind numbing exams. Oh, and there’s food.

Pie Throwing with Student Government

Wednesday Nov. 29th 4:00 pm- 6:00 pm at the Burrow at the Jupiter campus.

If you’re on the Jupiter campus and need to blow off some steam, Student Government has an event where students can throw a whipped cream pie at a professor or faculty member!

Winter Wonderland

Friday Dec. 8th 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm in room 106 in the Student Union.

Get into the Christmas season and  stop by the Office of Diversity and Multicultural affairs Winter Wonderland celebration for free food and fun!

Late Night Breakfast

Thursday Dec. 7th 9:00 pm-11:00 pm the Oasis Student Lounge on the Davie campus.

What’s better than free breakfast food? Free breakfast food after dark. Take a break from studying and stop in for some free study food to help fuel you through the long nights of studying.

 

 

 

Final Exam Week Library Hours

Thursday, Dec. 7 and Friday, Dec. 8: 7:40 a.m.-2:00 a.m.

Saturday, Dec. 9: 10:30 a.m.-2:00 a.m.

Sunday, Dec. 10: 7:30 a.m.- 10:30 p.m.

Students should also check in with their R.A.’s to see if their dorm building will be holding any additional events.
