The Career Center was packed with dozens of students Thursday afternoon for an information session about the Disney College Program.

Disney College Program (DCP) is a national internship program for college students to work and live at the Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort.

Career Center staff were surprised at the popularity of the informational session. Jennifer Berman, assistant director for internships and Co-Ops at the Career Center, hosted the event.

“Wow, I didn’t expect this many people,” Berman told the crowd.

DCP had 40,000 applicants apply for 4,000 open spots for the spring 2018 semester internship. Disney only accepted 17 current FAU students.

“Disney recently named FAU as a distinguished college institute,” Berman said.

The event also showed students how to stand out during interviews, the benefits of DCP, and their prospective responsibilities.

An informational video of the Disney College Program was shown to students in attendance.

“My brother was a full-time DCP employee and that got me interested in the program,” said Evan Macak, sophomore accounting major.

The next informational session about DCP is on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Career Center, Student Support Services Facility, room 220.
