After almost two months of waiting, Florida Atlantic has found a new athletic director.

As first confirmed in a press release by FAU’s assistant athletic director and media relations contact Katrina McCormack, Brian White is slated to become the program’s sixth full time athletic director, which includes the title of vice president.

White signed a five-year contract and is still to be determined when he will be formally introduced at a press conference.

White comes to Boca Raton after spending the last couple years in Missouri. In his time there, he was senior associate athletics director in 2015 before changing positions the following year, becoming deputy athletics director for external relations. He also served as the sports administrator for men’s basketball and football at the school.

According to the press release, while at Missouri White “oversaw all external units, including development, marketing, ticket sales, strategic communications, Mizzou Sports Properties, and the Mizzou Network. He managed the university’s relationship with Learfield Sports, which also partners with FAU to protect and maximize FAU’s brand awareness and royalty revenues.”

He comes from a very successful family. His father Kevin and brother Danny are also vice presidents and athletic directors at Duke and UCF respectively. His oldest brother Mike is the head men’s basketball coach for the University of Florida.

White replaces Pat Chun, who left in January for the same position at Washington State.

Interim athletic director Brian Battle will now return to his former role as senior associate director of athletics for internal operations.
